Educational Qualifications

• Candidates should have passed D.El.Ed. Course / B.Ed. Course or appearing in the course can appear in the examination from a recognized board.

• Primary Teacher (Paper I) – Class 1 to 5: Candidates must have completed Senior Secondary or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks and passed or appeared in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. OR Candidates must have passed Secondary or its equivalent with at least 45% marks or the final year candidates of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, in accordance with the NCTE can also apply. OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR Candidates must have finished Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks successfully or the final year individuals of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) can also appear for PSTET 2023 Exam. OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) is essential for Classes 1 to 5: Primary Level. Such Candidates must undergo a 6-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE, within two years as a primary level teacher.
• Upper Primary Teacher (Paper II) – Class 6 to 8: Candidates who have completed their Graduation or candidates pursuing their final year of 2- a year Diploma in Elementary Education can also apply. OR Should complete Graduation with at least 50% marks or/ and pursuing the 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). OR Graduation with at least 45% marks is required or candidates who passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) are also eligible. OR Candidates must possess Senior Secondary or its equivalent with at least 50% marks or/ and candidates who passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks is required and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year B.A/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed is also eligible. OR Graduation with at least 50% marks is essential and passing or appearing in a 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education). Candidates who possess a qualified B.Ed Programme recognized by the NCTE are eligible.
