CTET July 2023 Educational Qualifications

• Candidates should have 12th Class, Graduate, BA, B.ED, MA, M.Ed, Diploma, D.Ed. from a recognized board.

Educational Qualifications for Paper I (from Classes 1 to 5)

• Candidates must have cleared or still pursuing the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (with a minimum of 50% marks) from a recognized University/ Institution.
• Applicants must have cleared or still pursuing the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (with a minimum of 45% marks) in accordance with the NCTE, Regulations, 2002.
• Aspirants must have cleared or still pursuing the final year of 4 years of a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) from a recognized University/ Institution (with at least 50% marks).
• Candidates must have cleared or still pursuing the final year of 2 years Diploma in Special Education (with at least 50% marks) from a recognized University/Institution. Candidates must have cleared the Graduation (with at least 50% marks) and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from a recognized University/ Institution.

Educational Qualifications for Paper II (from Classes 6 to 8)

• Candidates must have cleared the Graduation and also must have cleared or still pursuing the final year of 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education from a recognized University/ Institution.
• Candidates must have cleared the Graduation (with minimum 50% marks) and passed or appeared in the first year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) from a recognized University/ Institution.
• Candidates must have cleared the Graduation (with a minimum of 45% marks) and passed or appeared in 1 year of bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE Regulations in Education (B.Ed).
• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and Candidates must have cleared the Graduation of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).
• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and Candidates must have cleared the Graduation of 4-year B.A/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed.
• Graduation with at least 50% marks and Candidates must have cleared or appeared in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
• Candidates must have cleared the Graduation in B.Ed. Programs recognized by the NCTE are eligible to appear in TET/ CTET.

CTET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The minimum qualifications for appearing in the CTET are as notified by NCTE. The candidates are advised to visit the website of NCTE https://ncte.gov.in to ascertain their eligibility. The minimum qualifications for the teaching staff should be in accordance with the following:

• National Council for Teacher Education (Determination of Minimum Qualifications for Persons to be recruited as Education Teachers and Physical Education Teachers in Pre-Primary, Primary, Upper Primary, Secondary, Senior Secondary or Intermediate Schools or Colleges) Regulations as amended and notified from time to time.
• Minimum qualifications laid down in the Recruitment Rules for the teachers by the Appropriate Government where the school is situated or the Recruitment Rules for the teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangthan or Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.

CTET Registration Online 2023 Selection Process

• All questions in CTET will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with four alternatives out of which one answer will be most appropriate. Each carries one mark and there will be no negative marking. There will be two papers on CTET.
• (i) Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
• (ii) Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
• Note: A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both papers (Paper I and Paper II).
